Margherita Pizza

Meal: 195 cal Protein: 11g Carbs: 9g Fat: 10g

What…Pizza that comes together faster than you can dial takeout? AND it’s a million times better, too? You can use any type of tortilla to make an amazing thin crust pizza.

We really like Almond Flour tortillas the best – they aren’t too flimsy, too stiff, or too chewy – and they’re easier on your diet than a standard corn or flour tortilla. Alternatively, we also love the combo corn/flour tortillas for taste and texture, but they’re a bit heavier on the calories (add +50 calories to this dish). The key to the taste for this 4-ingredient pizza is an amazing sauce and high quality cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 Almond Flour Tortilla
  • 2 Tbsp Roasted Tomato Marinara
  • 1 Oz Buffalo Mozzarella sliced
  • Fresh Basil Leaves

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425F (convection), 450F (standard oven).
  2. Place Tortilla directly on rack in oven. Bake for 3 minutes.
  3. Turnover and bake for 1-2 more minutes – until crispy and golden.
  4. Remove from oven and set on parchment lined baking pan.
  5. Top with sauce and then cheese. Then finish with torn basil leaves.
  6. Return to oven for 3 minutes to melt the cheese.

  • You can make the sauce listed above, or you can swap in a high quality store bought sauce or just slice up some fresh tomatoes. And for cheese, look for real buffalo mozzarella. And that’s it – you have an amazing Margherita pizza! And one more thing…the whole thing is just for you!
